Welcome to Clarence Bowling Club

The last tourist match of the season with a narrow win for Clarence which included a couple of comebacks, one of which edges out the other as it allows me to use good old sporting term – this was the classic match as it was a “game of two halves” as at halftime Clarence were ten (10) down, Terry Bay, Derek Weston and Ferdi skipped by Ash Easden then with a winning streak of 7-ends saw them take a two-shot lead with one to play, Easden`s men dropped a shot, winning by one.

Once again, the Blues retain the Trophy, congrats to them. It wasn`t all plain sailing for the Blues as Terry Bay and Ferdi skipped by Trevor Joint of the Golds ran out winners by 9-shots. The Golds also pulled out a draw with Terry Flashman and Andrew Gilyeat alongside skip Frank Bertram. Rink of the Day for the Blues came from Mike Fry and Rob Poole with skip Gordon Sansam 29-9.

The annual Jim McClelland Cup played away at the saint’s home ground with Clarences Men losing out, letting the Saints retain the Cup. Both Martin Fieldand Derek Sims skipped by Ash Easden; Mike Russell and Terry Cottrell with skip Mick Edlin both running out winners by 9-shots.This week sees the end of the outdoor season finishing with a couple of friendly matches sandwiched between those we have the end of season grudge match with the Golds vs Blues, on Tuesday we have the climax to the Paxton Cup our charity through out the outdoor season, rounding the week off will be Captains Day on Sunday. This starts us off with the winter season, including long and short mat comps, a Snooker Tournament, plenty of quiz nights, themed Bingo, Poker nights, coming up soon is a Country and Western with local Artist Chrystal Bliss, then Anges Halloween Disco and Karaoke night + more in the Pipeline.
